I was really looking forward to my stay at Dreams Resort & Spa, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Based on the resort’s reputation and the cost of the Preferred Club, I expected a much higher level of service, comfort, and overall quality. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite. Unfortunately, the room felt very dated, particularly the bathroom, which looked like it had not been updated since the 1980s. It had a bathtub with a shower curtain, and the room itself was extremely hot. There was also no ocean view. The resort eventually brought us a fan and moved us the following day to a standard room that was actually less dated and more comfortable. We requested to keep the fan because the room temperature continued to be an issue—and we absolutely needed it. The food was another major disappointment. With the exception of Portofino, I found the food at the restaurants to be underwhelming and not what I expected from an all-inclusive resort of this caliber. Breakfast was particularly unpleasant because birds were freely flying around the buffet and taking food while guests were trying to serve themselves. That was both unappetizing and concerning from a sanitation standpoint. Poolside service was also extremely lacking. There was little to no poolside service, no swim-up bar, and I frequently felt ignored by staff in the pool area. Throughout my stay, the resort appeared to be significantly understaffed, and unfortunately, that seemed to directly affect the guest experience. I also want to address something that was particularly uncomfortable for me. I have traveled throughout the Caribbean and have never personally experienced what I perceived as colorism. However, during this stay, I repeatedly felt that some of the female wait staff were more attentive and accommodating toward lighter-skinned and Hispanic women than toward darker-skinned women. I did not experience the same behavior from the male staff. I can only speak to my personal experience and perception, but it happened often enough that I felt it was important to mention. As for the Preferred Club, I honestly struggled to see the value. Other than premium top-shelf liquor, wine, and access to a separate check-in area, there seemed to be very little additional benefit. There was no butler service or the level of personalized attention I would expect from a Preferred Club experience. That said, I want to acknowledge the positive. The women working in the Preferred Club were genuinely wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Jael, in particular, was exceptional and went above and beyond to assist us with our concerns. The Preferred Club manager also provided me with a spa discount, which I appreciated. I received a 50-minute relaxation massage with an eye massage for $100. Interestingly, I later learned the regular price would have been only $115, so the discount was fairly minimal. What bothered me more was being asked to pay for my treatment upon arrival. I thought it was unusual, but I agreed. While at the spa, I watched two older, lighter-skinned/Hispanic women pay for their services when they were leaving. Given my earlier experiences at the resort, I couldn't help but question why I was required to pay upfront while they were not. If I had been in the United States, I would have asked for my money back and left. However, I have a personal vacation mantra: nothing and nobody is going to ruin my vacation. So, I chose to enjoy the remainder of my trip rather than allow these experiences to consume my time. For perspective, I have stayed at several Royalton resorts, which are often considered more budget-friendly all-inclusive options. Yet, I have consistently received a better overall experience at Royalton when it comes to service, food, entertainment, and convenience. Their upgraded club experience actually feels like an upgraded experience. When considering vacation in Curaçao, I recommend comparing this resort with other options including non-all-inclusive options. Don't choose this resort.

All-inclusive… except, apparently, when it comes to food and drinks. Service was consistently slow and required multiple follow-ups. Drinks arrived after entrees at dinner, some entrees beat the appetizers to the table and a bug in the water glass was an especially memorable touch. Wouldn’t have been a big deal if the staff handled it quickly. The execution simply isn’t there. For an all-inclusive resort, the basics should be the easiest part and they weren’t.

One of the worst resorts I've ever visited. Basic room with nothing overstanding. I am UVC Preferred Member, for those members interested coming, DO NOT VISIT this 3-star resort. There is no difference being a preferred member with any regular visitor. To get food in one of the restaurants, at least 3 hours between waiting for a table, order and get the food. Lack of personnel. Basically you see the same 5 waitresses on the breakfast buffet and the italian or grill restaurants for the dinner. They are friendly but working as slaves. That is one of the reasons they take forever to serve guests. Room service doesnt exist at all. I ordered breakfast thru the concierge, waited hour and 45min and never arrived. Options in the buffet very basic for breakfast and lunch. Super cheap drinks. Even having UVC membership, only couple of liquors of difference, nothing extraordinary. To those whom are thinking to join UVC, do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. They are scammers and the only places MAYBE worthy, Punta Cana and Cancun (some of the resorts are shitty, anyway).

The only real upside to my stay was that my employer covered the bill. The hotel is dated, dirty, and underperforming on service. I waited over an hour for a basic room service burger, and simple inquiries meant walking down to the front desk in person. On top of that, a DJ blasts loud music all night directly beneath the oceanfront rooms. I would be deeply disappointed if I had paid out of pocket to fly here for a vacation.
