I recently went here with family, and we loved it! This is probably the #1 thing to do in Willemstad, as the synagogue it is in is the oldest in the western hemisphere!
Very surprised at how much I enjoyed this museum. First you need to show your identity card, then it's an 18$ entry which I thought was a bit expensive, but includes an interesting audio guide....and a bracelet on your wrist. After 1 hour 20mins, I still hadn't yet seen the Anne Frank part, which was the part I'd wanted to visit. I couldn't stay longer as I had a bus to catch, but with the bracelet you can return whenever you want for free - first time I've seen this! And actually made the price worthwhile. I'm returning to Willemstad in 5 days so hope to go back to discover Anne Frank, if the bracelet survives a week at the beach! I would advise a good 2hr visit, and that's when you skip a lot of testimonials!
Wonderful museum that describes the long Jewish history in Curacao. The visit to the synagogue alone is worth the entry fee, and the other new sections are very well done. The story of George Maduro is especially interesting.
I loved this museum. I'd wanted to go ever since I saw a miniature replica of the attached synagogue at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Curacao is such a special Jewish community. You get a very detailed view of the origins and the history of the Jewish community from the 17th century onwards. Artifacts are lovingly displayed and you can get an audio explanation of all of it, as you walk through the exhibits. Tickets are 18 dollars. They even have an exhibit of Anna Frank, what is Anna Frank's connection to Curacao, well, visit and find out!
